Well just wanna post about Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland. I went to Edinburgh last Saturday. We went by coach for about 3 hours and it cost £23 per person (expensive? yes it is).
And soooo around 12 am we arrived at Edinburgh! A big beautiful city. While we got into the city center, me and my friends are so excited to see a lot of buildings, traffic lights, wide streets, a lot of buses, etc. So typical big hectic city. We were so impressed. Yeah it's been a while since our last visit to a 'real big city' (Lancaster is not a city, lol)
First of all, we went around the city center, enjoying the sun, and go to a chinese restaurant to have lunch. There are 4 of us. Me, Chery, Elizabeth (my friend from HK) and Aleeza (my friends from Bangladesh), then when we were just about to get in to the restaurant, we met another friends, so then 6 six of us had lunch together.
I ordered a hong kong style fried rice (I forgot the name), Chery ordered a noodle with "cha siu", Aleeza order a hong kong style rice with roast chicken, Elizabeth ordered noodle with beef and the other 2 friends ordered 2 bowl of porridge, pork, and some other dishes. The restaurant is very very good! The food are in big portion so we were so full and the taste of the food is very very delicious. Although I spent £8.5 for that lunch, somehow it's worth it because I was so full and it was very very delicious. The "cha siu" is the best for me. It is the best "cha siu" I've ever eaten until now. Well, Elizabeth from HK said there are a lot of more delicious "cha siu" in HK. Woo I wish I was in HK, hehe..
Then after lunch we were walking along the shopping street. There are H&M, Zara, Topshop, Primark, Lush, The Body Shop, GAP, etc that I didn't remember...
Primark store in Edinburgh is really HUGE. It has 4/5 levels. And it was really crowded. Things they sell in Primark are really really cheap. Well my friend said because the quality is not good. But I don't care, hehe. Fit some clothes and got a cheap cardigan in Primark. The price is only £12, and I like the color. So, why not? Oh ya, I bought a headband as well from my sister. It only cost £2.5.
We can only stay until 17:45 so we don't have much time. I didn't go to Zara because the shop's location is too far. But we went to some shopping malls as well. There are a lot of shopping malls actually, but once again. Because of time I can't visit it one by one. :)
Then I went to the souvenir shop. Bought some postcards for my friends and a magnet for my mom.
Oh ya, when we stop in Starbucks, I bought a tumbler as well, and it was really cheap! It cost only £4. Well the original price is £8 but if you buy it, you can get a free tall beverage. And so my friend got her tall hot chocolate and give the £4 for me. :D hehe, very cheap right, compare to tumbler's price in Indonesia :)
Well, that's all about my day. We visited a lot of shops, but found nothing which is really good so we didn't shop a lot. But overall we do have a lot of fun!!! Took a lot of pictures from my friend's iPhone (I love iPhone's camera) But unfortunately all of the photos are in my friend's mobile phone and she hasn't upload it :( I hope she can upload it soon, hehe..
Edinburgh, overall, is really really beautiful. It's cold, it's windy, but at least it's still sunny. And I love sunshine! It totally makes us feel warmer. But we hardly ever see sun in Lancaster.. That's why I love Scotland. It's cold but we can meet the sun very often :) Edinburgh is a big city, very crowded, but it's still very clean and neat. It isn't the same as Singapore and Hong Kong. It's crowded but still peaceful :) There are old and modern side of the city, which makes it more beautiful. The city center has a lot of shops, restaurants, a lot of buses, cars, and everything! Well, Edinburgh is one of the best city I've ever visited.
I promise to myself someday I'll bring mom to see this city. One of my dream is to have a shopping and culinary holiday in Singapore with my mom and my second sister (Yessica) and bring my family to here, the UK. Visit my campus, Lancaster city, see another beautiful cities as well. Lancaster is very green, I can imagine my mom will definitely in love with it <3
And, here are some pictures, though it is not much, but, enjoy!
