Hello again people! hehe..
Saw a lot of news about yesterday's traffic of Jakarta in twitter and when I saw the photos on detik.com. Wow! The traffic is really awesome! hahah, well I don't feel shock anymore when take a look at that condition of our lovely city, Jakarta. Heard from the news that the traffic has started since the afternoon because of the demonstration of the labors who block some main roads in Jakarta. Then, in the evening its said that it was raining heavily and caused the traffic even getting worse. (well I don't really understand how the rain can cause a bad traffic actually)
Heard from mom since few days ago too, it was raining heavily in Jakarta these days. Hmmmm I hate rain!! It's just make everything worse especially if it is raining during after office hour (5-6 pm) when everyone are going back home.
I truly hate that condition. I went home from school by motorcycle. So you know why I don't like it, hahah. And my mom&dad got home by motorcycle too. My sister takes busway everyday. Well it's not only give disadvantages for my family but it'll be worse for people who need to get in and get out of the city every single day.
Some people who work in Jakarta are not living in the city itself. Lots of them come from Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Karawang, etc. It takes about 2 hour for them to get into the office, without traffic. With traffic? 4-5 hours maybe? Well it doesn't matter either you take public transportation or you drive your own car/motorcycle. The crowd can't be avoided anymore. Jakarta is way too pack of people. And it has been worse since there are no proper public transportation system in here.
Talking about public transportation in Jakarta? Yeah it's still very very inconvenient for people to take public transport. You have to fight a lot, hahah. I take busway 2-3 times in a week to go to Ratu Plaza for about 2 years. And yeah, it's very very tiring and I think the government still need to make a lot of improvements to fix it. The lack of proper public transportation system might be the main reason of the bad traffic in Jakarta. Even though we have busway. But in this very very bad condition like yesterday. What can busway do? Even the bus is trapped with other cars and can not move for hours.
Well Jakarta is a very unique city I could said. It makes you totally fall in love with it, but at the same time the condition will make you feel sick too, lol. But as a Jakarta citizen, I could said that I'm proud of my own city with its changes from time to time. There are just some problems which has not been solved. But I believe, someday, after all of the problems in Jakarta has been solved. Jakarta can be a lovely city for everyone.
Talking about Jakarta, let's not forget about the new governors too. Jokowi-Ahok. Well I'm not a big fan of them. But since everyone is talking about the good things of them. Just can wait for the positive changes they can make in a few years ahead for Jakarta. Hope they and their team can lead Jakarta into a better way.
After seeing this photos, only one think which is passed on my mind. I miss Jakarta! I miss the crowd, I miss the traffic, I miss the big roads, the lights, people with manner and smile everywhere, the sun, the cars, and the smoke! lol..
Well just can hope Jakarta can be getting better and better in the future.
(all photos credit to detik.com) The title is "macet hujan" (traffic and rain) lol!

Exciting Weekend
Helloooo it's Sunday tomorrow ^^ Perfect day to have a rest, hehe :)
Well, just passed another week in Lancaster :) this week is quite fun. Have no really many classes to attend. Then, yesterday, Indonesian society had another meeting. We eat "bakso" which is really really delicious!!! ^^ I ate 2 bowls of "bakso", hahahah.. drink cokes, ate snacks, had fun, bla bla blah...
Lucky is that some of the Indonesian society members are mothers, who are really really good at cooking. So when we meet we can eat their delicious fresh made Indonesian food. hehe..
And, you know what? I feel proud to know that there are some Indonesian who are working as a lecture in Lancaster University Management School. So proud of Indonesia :)
Talked with a lot of seniors which gave me a lot of new general knowledges during the sharing session. Started from talking about neo-libelarism and the western countries, until talk about our own country, Indonesia, with every wrong decisions our government has made. The sharing session ended at round 9 pm. Then stay a little bit longer because of talking about Korean drama with Kak Qisha, my senior. Ended up gathered as another small group then continue our conversation until 10:30.
Well it hasn't come to the end at 10:30. We decided to go to Graduate Bar. Where some of my senior live in there, the Graduate college. It's my first time in life to get into a bar. hahah, just have a sit for about 10 minutes because actually non of us want to have a drink that night. Move on to another location....
We went to Mbak Desy's flat. Gathered in her kitchen. Eat snacks, drink hot chocolates. Continue talking about bla bla blahhh lol.. There are 9 of us in the kitchen. Kak Haikal, Kak Firza, Bari, Kak Dhani, Kak Qisha, Mbak Desy, Adriana, Chery and me :D
Wanna know what time we finish our talk? The answer is at 03:40. hahhaha, yes, around 3 am in the morning!!! crazy huh? lol this is my first time to stay out of home until this late. Around 2-3 in the morning Mbak Desy cooked rice and so we ate that hot rice with "ikan teri balado" original from Indonesia. Believe me, it was really really delicious!!! hahahah
We talked about a lot of things about this and that. Found out that actually Kak Dhani already had a girlfriend, who is living in the US right now, Stanford. And, while talking about food and I mention about Pluit-Muara Karang. Only Kak Dhani knows where pluit is because actually he lives at Pluit Timur!! lol.
The more funny thing is, actually his parents open 2 chinese herbal pharmacy in Pancoran!! A area which is very very familiar for me.. hhahaha what a small world!!
Finish our talk at 03:30, we got back to Pendle with the boys, but because I have to take my bag first at Chery's room. I ended up going back to Bowland alone :s hahahha but this university is very very safe though, which is very good though I'm a girl. Even Kak Haikal have to catch the last bus to get back to his home in the city, lol.
That's Friday. I went to bed at around 5 in the morning. Woke up at 10. Go to the city center with Erin & Chery. Groceries in Sainsbury's. We spent about 2 hours in there, lol. Chery keep struggling while choosing the right butter and cheese with the least calories. Erin has a lot of things to buy. Me? I only bought milk, some pack of hot chocs and one dark kit kat. Have bought bananas and pears before though in the market..
One thing I love from Saturday, every morning I get to see a beautiful view from the bus while on the way to city. It's very very beautiful (for me) seriously. Green wide field. The trees's leaves are starting to change its colors. Some sheeps, goats. Parks where the children were playing. And the sunshine! Luckily almost every Saturday it's always sunny in Lancaster which is very good! hehe.
Had lunch for again and again at Mc Donald today, hehe.. Here is the story, actually, we never want to eat at Mc Donald. But on our bus ticket. There is a discount for buying Big Mac, Mac Chicken, or Fish burger with medium fries for only 2 pounds! Very very cheap right??!! (especially if you order Big Mac) :p that's why, we don't want to waste every opportunity we have because it means that was a waste of money if we did it, lol. Today is the fourth times I eat McD every Saturday!! lol. I'm already totally fed up with it. Definitely not going to McD again this Saturday (I hope) lol.
Then for dinner!! We have PASTA!!! hahahha cook pasta with Erin & Chery. Bolognese pene with sausages. Very very delicious ^^
After dinner me & Erin did the laundry and study in the library while waiting. 98% finish with my FES essay. Will print it out on Monday and I really really hope it can make my tutor feel satisfied enough. Seriously can't wait to finish this essay! lol. Well, have to finish another homework tomorrow but it's not that much ^^
Time flies, huh? Next week I have to attend all classes again, back to normal. Then on the following week is the essay's due date. The next following week is the FES presentation week (hope all the best for this), then after that? FINAL EXAM!!!! On Friday at the exam week. I'll go to the airport and fly back to Jakarta! Yippieee ^^ Just a few weeks left..
Well, on Monday/Tuesday my BS1's coursework result will be out. Hope I can get a good score!! :) And so what is left is only FES essay which is almost done and the presentation ^^ Have to study more for math though. But yeah! Let's do this! hehe
Heard some good news and bad news as well on this week from Indonesia, well. Just can hope everything is still fine and it can be okay at the end :) Will call mommy tomorrow, I miss her *hug*
And here are some pictures of my laptop's desktop picts :)

HELLO HELLO HELLO AGAIN TUESDAY
HELLO HELLO HELLO AGAIN PEOPLE!!!
Well, still think twice to go to Rotterdam actually, because Rotterdam is a very very big city. The cost living is very high, it's one of the most dangerous city in the Netherlands. And, one thing. I can't ride a bicycle :( if I want to study in Holland, at least I should know how to ride a bicycle first ;;)
Hahahah, too excited, huh? lol. I'm studying in the library right now, still doing some revisions for FES's essay which makes me feel sick already -__- Have no FES lesson tomorrow, so my first lesson tmrw is at 2 p.m. That's why I can stay up late tonight..
Well, the weather is not very good today, it's raining all day long, I woke up quite late and went to George Fox with Erin at 10. Because it was raining and the road was slippery. I fell!!! Yeah I fell on the street! It was so embarrassing! I don't even want to remember about it anymore, hahah. Then after we arrive, waiting to get into the classroom. And you know what! That class is canceled! Yes canceled! I was happy and mad at the same time. Why don't they announce it by email or moodle?? I have to wake up early, go to George Fox in the middle of rainy morning, fell on the slippery road. And when I arrived, the class is canceled. gahh -___- hahah :D
Well, just had my BS1's coursework writing assessment this afternoon :) Feel kinda relieve now, hahah, the assessment is.. so far so good for me. Well I've done my best, I hope I can achieve a good mark. :) Have 10 minute tutorial for FES essay as well today. And my first draft is quite good, I could say, hehe. Although still there are some grammar errors, need more references, need to change the sentences into passive, and bla bla blahhh :p
I have become quite productive nowadays, hehe.. At least have 2 hours for study everyday. Better than before, at least.. lol. Well, the only reason I become this productive is,, because of math -__-
Always studying while listening music, from iTunes, or youtube. And yeah, studying while listening to Super Junior KRY's songs is very very lovely <3 Just watch their whole Japan concert and download it :D Those videos will accompany me every time I study :)
Studying math while watching youtube ;;)
Oh ya, 3 days ago is my best friend, Ivana's birthday. Made a simple handwriting greetings from Lancaster then scan it and upload it into Twitter and Facebook, hehe. Some of the sentences were cut because of the scanner actually but well, glad that she like it :)
Then then then,,,, googling further information about Rotterdam School of Management. My ideal future university for my Master degree. And found out that actually I can study undergraduate in that school full in english!! hahaha,, suddenly had a simple regret about choosing Lancaster, lol. But well, maybe this is my fate, right? lol, to come to Lancaster, to meet my friends now, and maybe God will let me come to Rotterdam School of Management School for my master :) *Amen*
But, just check out about the requirement for the degree that I want to choose which is..
MSC FINANCE & INVESTMENTS (sounds cool even from the name, huh? hahahah)
The requirement is quite high,, because I need to get the 2nd class honor, make a cv, bla bla blahh.
And just like my Indonesian senior said, it's kinda hard to apply for master degree in another university.
Exception if you want to continue master in Lancaster, which is a big no for me. Oh please, 4 years is Lancaster is totally enough for me! lol Well, although lancaster is a high ranked university in the UK. But still, it's not that famous in Asia. If you apply for a job in europe, yes they will totally know Lancaster and its high ranked. But in Asia, still Lancaster has no name. Different with Rotterdam School of Management!! hehe.. And the degree I'll earned in 12 months from there is..
Master of Science in Finance and Investments (MScFI)
If I successfully choose finance as my undergraduate degree major, my title will be : Bsc (Hons) Finance
Well, it's still 3-4 years later, let's just take care of all my courseworks first now, hahah..
Oh ya, Me & my friends are going to cook pasta with sausages this weekend. Gahhh can't wait for weekend >< hehe.. Craving for delicious foods....
I hope the weather will be really fine tomorrow!!
And yeah! Almost forgot about this important news!!! My mom is going to Bangkok on 26th-1st Dec!!! Yeeee I was so happy when I heard this news :") Though she's not really happy with this traveling package still I felt happy because I know she really deserve it :")
God is really good!!! After all of the hardship through this year, He gives another vacation to her.
My mom has travelled to Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore for free. Next Dec she'll go to South Korea with dad and this nov, Bangkok!
So grateful though our family haven't had a chance to travel to Asia. She already had a chance to go to that countries. This year (2012) my mom has travelled to Australia, Singapore, East Europe, Bangkok and next, South Korea.
She becomes the one who travelled the most in my family and have a lot of Visa, hehe..
Here are the countries my mom has ever visited :
Here are the countries my mom has ever visited :
China (2)
HK (2)
Malaysia
Singapore (3)
Vietnam
West & East Europe
Australia
Thailand
South Korea
Trip to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, and Vietnam are all free. See, how good God is. She never ask to travel to that countries and He gives my mom a chance to go to there :") She never have a goal about something but from all of the things she has done, He knows what He should give to her as a return.
On thing I never forget from my mom. She always said that she and my dad started from nothing at first. They just live normally, without asking, just receive and be grateful. She always said that we don't need to be really ambitious if we want to have something. Just keep it secretly in our mind, live simply, be grateful. And God always knows our needed and if we live in a right way and serve Him always. He'll give more that we ever expected without our order. That's the way my mom can survive and have everything she need now. Not because she always work hard to get it, but because she just live rightly, and God will give everything she ever wanted and even more than in to her.
I really adore her. She's the most precious person in this world for me. I swear, after I become succeed, the first thing I'll do is to make my mom feel happy :")
So, my laptop is about to die because of running out of battery :p so, that's all for today!
Have a good days ahead people!!!
Keep the faith, do your best, and do enjoy every second of your life!
Good night and cheers from Lancaster,
Jeslyne =)

Things Left To Do
Hello again ppl. It has been 43 days since I first arrived in Lancaster. Time flies, huh?
Well, just did the BS1's presentation on last Friday, have submitted the first draft for FES's essay, and so only half of it are still left to be done. Gonna make some revisions for FES essay this Monday, BS1's writing assessment on Monday too. Submit the essay on 27th Nov. Then FES's group presentation on the 3rd of Dec. And so after that, done with all of my courseworks for this term. Only final exam left on 8th-14th Dec. Then on 14th at midnight I'll go to the airport by train. In the morning fly to Dubai. And last, on Sunday evening I'll be arrived in Jakarta.
Well, of course I feel worried about the exam, especially math, because I'm not really good at math. And I've never learnt math in english before. Then especially because we only have math on this term. And the requirement to get into LUMS is I have to get 70% on math. That's why this math exam is extremely important. If I can't reach 70%, I won't have a second chance and so the result is. I can't get into LUMS.
Not only need to worry about my grades, I must worry about my mom in Indonesia too. Too many complicated things happened with her and I can't do anything because I was not there.
Well, just can do my best and always pray for anything can getting better then. I have to study harder and harder, do my best for the coursework, do my best on the exam. Hopefully I can get the best mark and every problems can be solved.
I didn't miss the things I have or the things I can get in Jakarta. The only thing I care about in Jakarta is only my mom. And it's not because that I'm too childish that I can't be separated from mom. The only reason is, I know her condition right now, being left by all people where she can lean onto. I never wanted it to happen to her but still, I have no other choices. What should I do then?
Well, forget about my stories. I've made a list of things to do and things to eat during my holiday in Jakarta. And so, here it is :

Edinburgh
Hello guys! How's your week? It's Friday tomorrow! yeay, TGIF! hehe..
Well just wanna post about Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland. I went to Edinburgh last Saturday. We went by coach for about 3 hours and it cost £23 per person (expensive? yes it is).
And soooo around 12 am we arrived at Edinburgh! A big beautiful city. While we got into the city center, me and my friends are so excited to see a lot of buildings, traffic lights, wide streets, a lot of buses, etc. So typical big hectic city. We were so impressed. Yeah it's been a while since our last visit to a 'real big city' (Lancaster is not a city, lol)
First of all, we went around the city center, enjoying the sun, and go to a chinese restaurant to have lunch. There are 4 of us. Me, Chery, Elizabeth (my friend from HK) and Aleeza (my friends from Bangladesh), then when we were just about to get in to the restaurant, we met another friends, so then 6 six of us had lunch together.
I ordered a hong kong style fried rice (I forgot the name), Chery ordered a noodle with "cha siu", Aleeza order a hong kong style rice with roast chicken, Elizabeth ordered noodle with beef and the other 2 friends ordered 2 bowl of porridge, pork, and some other dishes. The restaurant is very very good! The food are in big portion so we were so full and the taste of the food is very very delicious. Although I spent £8.5 for that lunch, somehow it's worth it because I was so full and it was very very delicious. The "cha siu" is the best for me. It is the best "cha siu" I've ever eaten until now. Well, Elizabeth from HK said there are a lot of more delicious "cha siu" in HK. Woo I wish I was in HK, hehe..
Then after lunch we were walking along the shopping street. There are H&M, Zara, Topshop, Primark, Lush, The Body Shop, GAP, etc that I didn't remember...
Primark store in Edinburgh is really HUGE. It has 4/5 levels. And it was really crowded. Things they sell in Primark are really really cheap. Well my friend said because the quality is not good. But I don't care, hehe. Fit some clothes and got a cheap cardigan in Primark. The price is only £12, and I like the color. So, why not? Oh ya, I bought a headband as well from my sister. It only cost £2.5.
We can only stay until 17:45 so we don't have much time. I didn't go to Zara because the shop's location is too far. But we went to some shopping malls as well. There are a lot of shopping malls actually, but once again. Because of time I can't visit it one by one. :)
Then I went to the souvenir shop. Bought some postcards for my friends and a magnet for my mom.
Oh ya, when we stop in Starbucks, I bought a tumbler as well, and it was really cheap! It cost only £4. Well the original price is £8 but if you buy it, you can get a free tall beverage. And so my friend got her tall hot chocolate and give the £4 for me. :D hehe, very cheap right, compare to tumbler's price in Indonesia :)
Well, that's all about my day. We visited a lot of shops, but found nothing which is really good so we didn't shop a lot. But overall we do have a lot of fun!!! Took a lot of pictures from my friend's iPhone (I love iPhone's camera) But unfortunately all of the photos are in my friend's mobile phone and she hasn't upload it :( I hope she can upload it soon, hehe..
Edinburgh, overall, is really really beautiful. It's cold, it's windy, but at least it's still sunny. And I love sunshine! It totally makes us feel warmer. But we hardly ever see sun in Lancaster.. That's why I love Scotland. It's cold but we can meet the sun very often :) Edinburgh is a big city, very crowded, but it's still very clean and neat. It isn't the same as Singapore and Hong Kong. It's crowded but still peaceful :) There are old and modern side of the city, which makes it more beautiful. The city center has a lot of shops, restaurants, a lot of buses, cars, and everything! Well, Edinburgh is one of the best city I've ever visited.
I promise to myself someday I'll bring mom to see this city. One of my dream is to have a shopping and culinary holiday in Singapore with my mom and my second sister (Yessica) and bring my family to here, the UK. Visit my campus, Lancaster city, see another beautiful cities as well. Lancaster is very green, I can imagine my mom will definitely in love with it <3
And, here are some pictures, though it is not much, but, enjoy!
